Felix (Founder)

Hello! I am Felix and in April 2020, after a long time, I started my heart project with plusX. In my first start-up with four other founders, I learned how much energy, productivity and joy can be released when a team as a whole believes in and works towards the same goal.

Naturally, failures can also occur in such a constellation and so I took the chance to gain professional experience in a large German corporation. However, after a while and an extremely good time with many more learning experiences I realized that this environment is not the right one for me. And so a time of many questions began:

What am I actually doing my work for? What do I use the skills for that I have gained over the years? What do I want to achieve and what purpose should my work serve? Why are you in this world?

I have realized that I want to add social value with my work. Sure, strictly speaking, every work provides social added value, but I want to make a small contribution to this world that is within my sphere of influence.

I enjoy building things that solve problems and make others or myself happy. I realized in my first start-up that it is great to see how your idea comes to life, is accepted or rejected by users and to develop it further.

The way I grew up, the experiences I made, our community of values and the chance to try all kinds of things made me who I am today. I am very grateful for this and I am convinced that everyone should have these opportunities!

With plusX I would like to make a contribution to more equal opportunities and perhaps even to narrowing the gap between rich and poor a little bit.

Alina (Social Media Management)

Hello, I'm Alina and I've been responsible for social media management at plusX since April 2021. I really enjoy creating posts and especially reels. I always follow the latest trends to keep our accounts up to date.

While looking for an honorary position, I came across plusX. The idea and the whole concept immediately won me over. I think it is very important that all children should have the same starting opportunities. I would like to contribute to narrowing the growing gap between rich and poor a little. At plusX I have found a great team with whom working together is fun, you can learn a lot from each other and, above all, pursue the same goal.

I love traveling, hiking, going to cafes and restaurants, meeting friends and most of all being with people. At the weekend I also like to swing the tennis racket and power myself out on the court.

Nilay (Friendraiserin)

Huhu, my name is Nilay and I have been supporting plusX in fundraising and developing strategic partnerships and collaborations since November. Both areas have a lot of overlap, which is why I am simply the “friendraiser”. Like the entire team, I also take part in the new challenges that a social start-up brings with it every day. My special talents lie in pestering the team with the same questions about social media channels and bringing in my ideas for the development and organization of plusX, which I often come up with spontaneously, preferably at the end of the meeting.

The decision to become part of the plusX team was very easy for me, as I have been committed to civil society issues out of conviction for several years and recently also worked professionally in the non-profit sector. What I particularly like about the plusX idea is that informal learning is promoted among children and young people by the possibility of participating in leisure activities and that we are thus making a contribution to more equal opportunities. I think it's great that plusX has developed a solution for this important topic, because I also know from my own experience what it means not to be able to take part in leisure activities outside of school.

In my private life, I love to travel, preferably to different places near and far. My backpack is my loyal companion to get to know nature and people from their different beautiful sides. If I'm not out and about, I like to cook creatively and have recently been trying out all the different delicacies my garden at home has to offer.

Sergey (Web-Developer)

Hi, I'm Sergey and I help with programming-related issues, as well as with writing applications towards foundation with the goal of securing funding.

Originally all I intended was to find a suitable project that I could participate in, in order to expand my programming skills and at the same time to do something good for the community.

But what convinced me to stay in the long term was the gratifying discovery that both the advantages of a start-up and those of a non-profit company come together here. On the one hand, you have the opportunity to acquire knowledge in many different areas and to take on responsibility and also bring in your own ideas. On the other hand, there is a completely different atmosphere here than one is used to from most commercially operated companies. When people volunteer, they do it because they believe in something, and by sharing this common belief and working towards a common goal, a sense of community naturally emerges that is often lacking in normal companies. Accordingly, I find it to be a pleasure to be part of this project.
